My main memory of Jaime was how much he loved and adored his family. He will be missed and I will cherish my short time In the Jacksonville neighborhood. The Rodriguez family always treated me like family and very dear to my heart. I will continue to pray for comfort and strength. My love to you all during this very difficult time.

Jaime you will be missed more than you could imagine! Thank you and Linda for giving us the daughter we always wanted. We love Niomi so much! And thank you for loving our son Jarrod like one of your own not just as a son-in-law. We promise to love and take care of Linda for you! The Vargas family ( Mom, Dad, Nancy, Richie, Raymond and Monica) want to send our heartfelt condolences to the Rodríguez family.  Our families have known each other for over 50 years, our parents even more.  We lived in the South Bronx ( 158th Street and later at 530).  We always seemed to live in the same building.  We were and are family.  I remember when Jaime was 16 or 17 years old and met Linda for the first time.  Cupid shot him in the heart because he fell insanely in love with her.  He was on a mission to date her and make her his woman!! Well my Brother, I have been watching all those beautiful pictures of you, Linda and your absolutely beautiful children and grandchildren.  I see you succeeded on making that beautiful girl your wife!!! What a “Love Story.”  I am a witness.  Mom and Dad say “Jaimito, no puede ser!”  We are in shock.  You can see that God gave Jaime so much.  We can not question what God has in store for each of us.  God needed Jaime ‘s perseverance and strength.  I want to extend my condolences to Estrella, Danny, Norberto and Marcos.  Linda may God give you the strength to continue being the Matriarch of your beautiful family.  May he bestow an abundance of love, support, blessings, and health  to you, your children and grandchildren.  We’ll talk soon.  Much love to all.  Bobby Vargas and the Vargas family.

Wow, unbelievable. I will always cherish the many nights working at Naval Station Mayport with Jaime. My prayers go out to Linda and the family. May God grant you all peace as you journey through this most difficult time. 

To my cousin, 
     I am so deeply sorry you couldn’t win the battle Cuz!  I really thought you would.  Prayed so hard you would.  Our last text to each other really made me believe you would.  God had other plans.  I’ll never get why God needs the good guys so young, but it is not for me to question.  
     I have many memories of you, but I’ll share a few.   First is when you fell trying to climb the fire escape at 530 in The Bronx.  Omg.  I recall them running you to the ambulance, I believe?  I was only a little girl, so it’s fuzzy.  I do remember Mami crying cause they were taking you to the hospital.  Looking out our fire escape and she was crying.  I remember when you first came to visit from The Navy.  Not sure if it was right after boot camp.  It was a hot Summer Day and we were all outside and you come waking down the street and everyone going crazy.  Running up to you.  We all did.  Visiting you in PR when you were stationed there.  Visiting you in Newport, RI.  We had so much fun, I called out sick to work, (when I wasn’t), so we could stay longer.  Then visiting you in Jacksonville, also extending our trip, because it was so much fun, playing dominoes to the wee hours!  I’ll never forget how you tricked me at Ripley’s Believe or Not to go ahead of you and do exactly what the prompter told me.  Lol.  Only to have people laughing at/with me cause they saw my funny faces on the other side.  Lol 
     You were a practical joker.  That was so funny.  If only, you could play more jokes.  😢
     Cuz, you were a great husband, great father, and great papa.  You were such a family man!  Family came first with you.  I will miss you Cuz.  I’ll miss our political chats.  Lol.  I’ll miss the memes you would send me.  Lol.  I would show them to Nico.  
     May God take you in His arms!  Look out for your family.  I’m sure you will.  Wish we had more time in this world, but we will meet again Cuz.  You’re at peace!  Love to the family! ❤️🙏🏼

You may not know me but I am Michelle Vargas's sister Debbie Lopez, which makes Jaime my cousin.  It has been a very long while and although we were distant- Family is Family.   Elvin was my Step-dad.  I may not have known  Jaime the man. But I knew Jaime in his earlier years of his life.  I remember him trying to sneak in to the apartment and falling and nearly killing himself back in the day.  Always living dangerously.  But he was always the sweetest of souls.  Someone his younger brothers can look up, too.  I am sure that the foundation of who he was back then was a clear indication of who he was now - the sweetest of souls that will be sorely missed.  I wished I could have been closer but life gets in the way of keeping in touch.  I wish to someday meet you all.   I am in New Jersey, Norberto has my details.  My heart ❤ is truly filled with sorrow and I am sincerely sorry for your loss.  God has truly welcomed Jaime home.  May he rest in eternal peace.  My prayers and sympathies are with Jaimes' wife, children and grandchildren and all family members.  God bless you all and May the souls of the faithfully departed through the mercy of God rest in peace.  💞

There are no words that can express the emptiness and immense sadness I Feel.  Losing my eldest brother during such an already dark time in our world, is so unfair. I came down from Virginia to be with my sister, your wife, praying & in hopes that I could assist her in her recovery, but at the same time to be there when you came back home from the hospital. Unfortunately, what miracle we all prayed for, didn't come to pass. However the Heavens got another Warrior and We have an Angel to look after us all. You will Always be missed and Never Forgotten. My dearest cousin, I love like a brother. Im going to miss you soo much.   My best memory  was when Sammy, Jaime and mom went to kidnap Linda while she was visiting PR. Jaime was determined to take her away and marry her.  They got married in a little Chapel in  front of our house! He was sooo happy. !!! And the rest was history. But before all that there was the white station wagon!!!!    Love you forever Jaime. Sooo proud of you. Great role model, great dad, husband and Paw paw. 
I know you are in heaven with my daddy that you loved sooo much.   You are our spirit guide now. God bless you!! 

I'm really sorry to hear of his passing. I have fond memories, having worked with "Rod" for many years on the midnight shift at Mayport. He was a good man, always speaking highly of his wife & family. Always talking about cars, talk radio, politics, lol. His GI Joe collection was huge. Another good soul gone too soon. My condolences to his family & friends.  

I first met Jaime at Block Busters in New Port R.I. were I worked part time. We quickly became family as we both shared the same last names and our wives shared both first & last names.  You see we where both station in Rhode Island and lived in government housing on Newport R.I. As we both were hispanic, Jaime had a racist neighbor who we had a run in with.  This incident cause us to go in front of the base commander.  After that we really solidify our friendship and we became family. My wife and I were given the honor of being there youngest daughter's God parents.  After I retired from the Navy we moved to South Florida and when Jaime retired he and the family also moved to Florida, but stayed in Jacksonville.  When my wife Linda pass, Linda Rodriguez and the kids went down to South Florida to be with me and say goodbye to Linda C.  My regret now is that I can't do the same since I am out of the country.  Linda I'm truly sorry for your lost, Jamie was a great man, father and husband.  He was like a brother to me, may he RIP.  I love the Rodriguez family.  Linda my sincere condolences on your lost.  Now Linda C and Jaime can play cards in heaven, for I know she will greet him there.  Daniel Rodriguez a long distance family member for life! 

Mr. Rodriquez you will be missed by so many.  Growing up with Genesis and being invited over to celebrate events with your family was always one of my favorites.  You guys are all so much fun and so sweet.  Your laugh could immediately make everyone around you smile.  It is the best laugh ever.  When you and Mrs. Rodriquez would yell for the dog “Kelly” and I would act like you were yelling at me or calling my name 🤣 that was fun and I hope it made you laugh ☺️ You are such a great person to all that know you.  You are an amazing father.  I know because you raised an amazing daughter who is strong and beautiful.  I love how close your family is and how much quality time you guys spend together.  So many sweet happy memories. ❤️
So sorry to all the family.  You guys are awesome and I love you all.  Continued prayers 🙏🏻 xoxoxo
