Frederick Allen Hill

Frederick “Fred” Allen Hill, 82, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away on October 27, 2024. Fred was born in Plymouth, North Carolina to Joseph Allen Hill, Jr. and Betty Ruth (Browning) Hill on October 5, 1942.

Fred graduated in 1962 from Brookland-Cayce High School, Cayce, South Carolina prior to entering the United States Navy where he served proudly for 24 years. After his retirement from the U.S. Navy, Fred served another 24 years with Civil Service.

Fred was a member of the Fleet Reserve Association Branch 290, and the American Legion 316. He had a passion for golf, music, connecting with other veterans, and maintaining his lawn.

Fred was surrounded by his life partner of 32 years Joan Marie (Lambert) DelCogliano, his stepdaughters Margaret (DelCogliano) Shepherd, husband Donald Jr., Yvonne (DelCogliano) Cash, husband Michael and grandchildren Johnathan Mangum, Donald, Dalton, Daylon, Caroline, and Davison Shepherd, and Ashley, Blair and Jameson Cash and soon to be great granddaughter Elliana at the time of his passing.

Fred pre-deceases his 4 brothers Gary Hill, Steve Hill, Tom Hill and Wes Hill, and his 3 children, Samuel A Hill, Cheryl A. Hill and Stephanie M. Hill. He is predeceased by his mother, father, and stepdaughter Ida Marie DelCogliano. A viewing will be held at Hardage-Giddens Beaches Chapel on November 4, 2024, from 5pm -7pm.
