Betty Buford Owens, 86, passed away February 5, 2016 in Neptune Beach, Florida. Born in New Hope, AL, she was a longtime resident of Savannah, GA. She moved to Jacksonville in 1962 with her family and retired to Neptune Beach in 1971. Betty retired from Haughton & Co. Real Estate.
She was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 61 years, Harry Everette Owens, Jr. in 2010. Survivors include sons, Harry R. Owens (Renee) and John R. Owens (Michelle); and grandchildren, Pamela Owens, John Everette Owens, and Christina Owens.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at HARDAGE-GIDDENS FUNERAL HOME, 1701 Beach Blvd. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, Feb. 12th at Bonaventure Cemetery, 330 Bonaventure Road, Savannah, Georgia.
