Arlene “Arddy” Farrell, 70, passed away February 24, 2023. Visitation will be held Monday, March 13th 6- 8pm at Beaches Chapel by Hardage-Giddens, 1701 Beach Blvd. Jacksonville Beach, FL with Catholic Mass being held Tuesday, March 14th 10:00am at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, 224 5th St. N. Jacksonville Beach, FL, followed by a reception with refreshments at the Family Life Center from 11:00am - 1:00pm before escorted progression to the National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Rd., Jacksonville, FL.
Arddy was born in St. Petersburg, FL on July 28, 1952. Arddy graduated from Riverview High School and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management from the University of South Florida. She joined The United States Marine Corps in 1970 where she worked her way from Private to Major in service of her country and received a Meritorious Service Medal.
After retirement, she began her career with AAA excelling in every role, finally retiring as District Manager. She loved the Jacksonville area and strove to serve her community. Arddy was a proud member of the Women Marines Association FL7 1st Coast (a former President); and was very active in civic organizations such as Beaches Relay for Life, American Cancer Society; 1st Coast Civitan, Community Traffic Safety Team; and the Council of Catholic Women (former President) at St. Paul’s. She loved to travel with family and friends, was an avid crafter, making beautiful cards for everyone and crocheting lovely pieces for everyone.
Arddy was preceded in death by her parents, her granddaughter, Anastasia Rose, and the love of her life, Leo J. Farrell. She is survived by her children: Deborah Haley (John), Patrick Farrell (Erin), grandchildren: Benjamin Farrell, McKenna Haley-Wood (Jordan), John Mark Haley II, Alexandra Gratchev, and Gabrielle Gratchev; brothers Norman Cyphers (Amanda) and Richard Cyphers; and nieces Tabatha Hornbostel (Christopher) and Kayla Cyphers.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Civitan International Research Ctr., Birmingham, AL. or Beaches Relay for Life, American Cancer Society.
