Willadene Hailey Holmes, age 88 of Jackson, passed away on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at Jackson-Madison County General HospitalShe was born on March 18, 1929 in Wheeler, MS to the late William Robert and Fannie Flossie Hailey. She attended West Tennessee Business College. Willadene was a Secretary and Dispatcher for the Madison County Fire Department for 50 years. She has been a member of Bemis United Methodist Church since 1955.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, R. Kelly Holmes; her daughter, Donna Carol Holmes; and her brothers, James Samuel Hailey and William Robert Hailey, Jr. She is survived by her son, Ralph Holmes (Jackie); grandson, Joe Kelly Holmes (Carrie); great granddaughter, Willow Grace "Gracie" Holmes; and a brother, Richard Hailey (Sue).The family will receive friends on Monday, March 27, 2017 from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. at George A. Smith and Sons South Chapel. Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 27, 2017 at 12 Noon at George A. Smith and Sons South Chapel with burial following in Lester's Chapel Cemetery. Active pallbearers to serve will be Jackie Roach, David Pruitt, Glenn Cooper, Joe Holmes, Tommy Jordan, and Don Mitchell. Honorary Pallbearers to serve will be Freddie Pruitt and Bob May.The family respectfully requests that no food be delivered to the family residenceIn lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Willadene's memory should be directed to Lester's Chapel Cemetery or Bemis United Methodist Church.
