Fesmire family:  It's hard for me to believe that a year has passed since my longtime friend Wayne Fesmire departed this life.  Today, July 4th, I'm praying for your comfort as a family, and thanking God for the many marvelous memories I have of Wayne.  Peace to all of you on this special day.  Rev. Russell N. I saw saddened to recently hear of Rev. Fesmire’s passing. I have so many great memories of when he and his family were at Scenic Hills UMC. I even had the pleasure of being in the same carpool with the Fesmires to Scenic Hills Elementary school. Such a dear family. Keeping you all in my prayers as I know you all miss this very dear man.

Truly hope Mrs. Fesmire gets to leave that facility 

I am so saddened by the sudden loss of Mr. Fesmire. I only had a brief time with he and his lovely wife at the facility.  In this short time, I came to realize Mr. Fesmire had a huge personality and a love for his wife beyond imagination. I will never forget him. I am so sorry .

Dear Jayne,  (David, Randal and Steven) I was so sad to learn of Wayne's passing, but give thanks that he was surrounded by his family.  I'm also thankful that your family was a part of my own life journey.  I remember when you all moved to Selmer, I was going into high school, where Jayne would become my chorus teacher.  I remember that Wayne gathered several of our youth group around some tables in the fellowship hall, shortly after you all had gotten moved in.  He wanted to hear from the young people about our hopes for our church.  I appreciated that he cared about building relationships with us.   Later, in more recent history, I was privileged to get to see Wayne fairly often, when I served on the District and he, in retirement, was the Conference Secretary.  He'd often stick his head in at my office just to offer a warm hello, when he was in the building.  He will be missed by all who knew him.  My prayers are with you in this season of grief!

I can still remember sitting behind Randy in Spanish class at HCHS clear as day.  But my memory of Wayne is what I shared on Facebook.  I have sent hundreds of cards in my ministry including many cards to new pastors coming into "my district."  I did not always succeed but I tried to extend a greeting to every incoming pastor.  Why?  Because in the summer of 1991 I moved to Mayfield, KY for my first post-seminary appointment.  I was so very naïve and honestly overwhelmed to a certain degree.  And Wayne, senior pastor at Broadway UMC in Paducah, took the time to welcome little old me with a card.  I was amazed because I thought I was too insignificant in the great scheme of things for Wayne to even notice.  He noticed because he cared.  Wayne Fesmire to the glory of God.

Fesmire family:  Carroll and I are saddened to lose a longtime friend and colleague in ministry.  Wayne & I have been special friends since 1955 when he came to Lambuth.  We are college and Vandy seminary classmates. We carpooled from Benton County to Nashville, were groomsmen in each other's wedding, spent many hours over several years editing the Conference Journals, enjoyed singles & doubles table tennis together, shared a weekly coffee group  in Jackson retirement, and I was his lawnmower mechanic and handyman in retirement. He even spent one night with us on our Weakley County farm while my Dad overhauled his '53 Chevy.  He was a good man, a wonderful friend, and a faithful laborer in God's Kingdom. I pray God’s comfort and peace upon each of you as you mourn the passing of Rev. Fessmire.

I will always be grateful for the kind manner in which he shared his knowledge and insight with me when I was preparing to serve as Conference Secretary and Co-editor of the journal for the legacy Tennessee Conference in 2001.

May God’s love and grace be with you all.

Sincerest condolences to the Fesmire Family. Wayne served as my pastor years ago at Stephenson Chapel United Methodist Church in Memphis, TN. My faith grew under his ministry in those years of being a mother of three young children. He certainly has left a legacy for his children and family! God bless you all. I will be lifting the family in prayer in the coming days.

He was a great person!! My husband, Paul Clayton, thought so much of him. 

Jayne ... you will not remember me...but Wayne hired me to preach at his parish churches in Selmer in 1973 ... my first ministerial job.  He was somewhat of a mentor for me.  I went on to have a 44 year career as a UM pastor.  I'll never forget him or your family.  Grace and peace to you all.
