She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Curtis White, and her parents, Carl “Boots” & Olean Mayo. She is survived by her 6 children: Milton (Barbara) Weaver, Kimberly Underwood, Debbie (Tony) Bailey, Amy (Don) Lafont, Lisa (Frankie) Borden, and Faye (Jim) Morris, as well as 14 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and 3 great, great grandchildren.
Peggy was born and raised in Bemis, Tennessee where she attended and graduated school. She began her life long mission of serving others by graduating from Baptist Hospital Nursing School in 1954. She went on to earn her Bachelor degree in nursing, serving as a RN-BSN until her retirement. Peggy then served the citizens of Madison County for 22 years alongside her husband in the Madison County Office of Register of Deeds.
She was a devout Christian and a member of Malesus Baptist Church. She touched so many people’s hearts in her lifetime, going above and beyond to help anyone - especially those in need. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. As a loving and dedicated mother, nothing meant more to her than her family through whom her legacy will live on.
Services will be officiated by Bro. Mark Cagle of Malesus Baptist Church at the George A. Smith & Sons Funeral Home South Chapel on Friday, June 11, 2021. The family will receive friends and loved ones from 12 pm to 2 pm with a Celebration of Life service to follow at 2 pm. Burial will be at Chester County Memorial Gardens in Henderson, Tennessee.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons: Tyler Thorson, Connor Thorson, Robert King II, Chris King, Jon Morris, & Nick Morris.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Madison County Humane Society in her memory.
