Norman Walker, 64, of Medon, TN, died Friday, September 8, 2011, at his residence. He was born on May 9, 1947 in Selmer, TN, to the late Reyburn McLean and Willie Adren Walker. He retired from Watlington Brothers after 38 years as job superintendent. Norman was Baptist in faith, a Vietnam Veteran, a carpenter and an outdoors man who loved to hunt and fish. He was a loving father and grandfather.
Mr. Walker was preceded in death by his parents and a brother-in-law, Jimmy King.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Mona Boren Walker of Medon, TN; children, Michael Walker and wife Christie of Parsons, TN, Jeffrey Walker and wife Angelique, Jacob Walker, Jennifer Montgomery and husband Lonnie and Jonathan Walker all of Jackson; grandchildren, Jacob, Lauren, Aliedra, Helena, Chloe and Jacob; a sister, Doris King of Lubbock, TX; and a brother-in-law, Clyde Boren of Medon, TN.
Visitation will be held 5-8 pm on Saturday, September 10th and also on Sunday, September 11th, at 1 pm until the funeral service at 2 pm, with Rev. Matthew Mincher officiating all held at the George A. Smith and Sons South Chapel. Burial will follow in Mars Hill Cemetery in McNairy County, TN.
Active pallbearers will be: S.C. Helton, Robert McKenzie, Matthew Martin, Alan Morris, Jonathan Murray and Darren Helton; Honorary will be: Bill McNeal, Dan Nuckolls, Alan Pierce and Cliff Murchison.
