Marilyn Jane Robinson Saari, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and dear friend to many, has left her earthly home to be with Jesus forever in heaven. She passed away in her daughter’s home in Greenville, South Carolina on Thursday afternoon, the 24th of February, 2022. Loved ones surrounded her as she took her last breaths. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
Marilyn was born in Jackson, Tennessee on April 19, 1937. She attended Union University in Jackson, excelling in all her studies. She enjoyed her profession as a lab technologist for many years, working in doctor’s offices and hospitals in Jackson, as well as in El Paso, Texas.
Marilyn, often called Jane, by close family members, including her parents, (Elizabeth Pope Robinson and Cecil Charles Robinson of Uptonville, TN) leaves behind for now, her son and daughter-in-law, David and Connie Littrell, their children: Beau, Casey, and Ellie, her husband, Jeremiah and their baby daughter, Emersyn Jane; as well as her daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and David Weston, their daughters, son and their families: Summer and Chad Verwers with their daughter, Elle; Tiffany and Stephen Place with their children, Oliver, Oceana, Mychael and Oakley; Abigail and Mason Matlock with their children, Jane and Lucy; and Raza and Daniela Weston. Marilyn was predeceased by her beloved husband, John, five years ago, and is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Jackie and Tom Sheppard, and her brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Phyllis Robinson and their children and their families.
In honor of our precious mother and grandmother “Meme,” there will be a visitation beginning at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 5, 2022, at the North Chapel of Smith Funeral Home in Jackson, Tennessee, followed by the funeral service at 12:30 p.m. A private family burial will follow at Maple Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.
