She was born on July 18, 1931 in Henderson, TN to the late John and Cordelia Coffman. Marie loved and cherished her family and her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ above all. Her faith, her children, and grandchildren were what filled her life with joy and happiness. The only thing that rivaled her love of family was the love of church activities and her time reading God's word. She will be missed by all that knew and loved her, but we all know that she is now worshipping at the feet of Jesus and telling everyone how great her children and grandchildren are!
In addition to being a homemaker, Marie retired in 1991 from the Jackson-Madison County School System where she drove a school bus for 20 years. She loved her church and was a faithful member of First Assembly of God. She was an active member there until her health would not allow her to attend. Her family has been a part of this congregation during the construction of the current building on Forest Avenue and dated back to the church when it was located on Glendale St.
Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Clifton Butler of 35 years; and eight brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her son, Jimmy Butler of Jackson; daughters, Susan Butler and Patricia Butler Kipp of Jackson; and her son, Kenny Butler (Rhonda) of Jackson; eight grandchildren, Anthony Kipp, Shawn Butler (Lacey), Hannah Blackmon (Bartley), Olivia Hyun (Billy) Travis Butler, Annette Kipp, Ryan Butler, and Alex Kipp; five great grandchildren, Austin Amos, Nicole Hyun, David Kipp, Winney Butler, and Aiden Hyun.
