Julie was born on January 1, 1961 in Sikeston, Missouri to Jo Ann Mays Latimore and the late William Lee Latimore. She was a School teacher for 28 years, starting her career at Whiteville Elementary School and most recently serving at Toone Elementary School. Julie loved teaching and her students dearly. Julie had a passion for her family and the most kind and caring heart.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband, Steve Payne, grandparents John Edward and Dorothy Elizabeth Latimore and Sarah Ann Mays Noiseworthy. Also, lifelong friend Lynn Wagster.
She is survived by her daughter, Jessica Cooper (Josh) and children, Jack, Hunter, and Blake of Jackson; Mother Jo Ann Latimore of Humboldt; Sisters, Sherrie Deaton of Jackson and Sarah Latimore of Humboldt; neices, Alison Deaton (Shawn) and children, Jace and Luke of Jackson and Victoria Deneen of Humboldt. Nephews, Will Deaton (Lisa) and children, Carter, Cash, and Cooper of Jackson and Blake Deneen of Humboldt. Along with many other extended family and friends.
The family will receive friends and loved ones on Monday, September 27, 2021 from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the North Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons with a funeral service following at 1 p.m. Burial will follow in Ridgecrest Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be at Will Deaton, Jace Deaton, Blake Deneen, Keith Mays, Josh Townsend and Shawn Legions.
