On the morning of November 15, 2014, Judy Gaye Haynes Wadley of Jackson, passed away peacefully at the Jackson-Madison County General Hospital, as her husband held her hand, and she was surrounded by her family. Judy was 47 years old.
She was born to the late Mary Kemp Haynes and Robert L. Haynes on April 4, 1967 in Humboldt, TN. Judy graduated from South Side High School and Union University with a degree in accounting. Judy was Baptist in belief.She was married to Josh Wadley, the love of her life, with whom she celebrated their 6th wedding anniversary on January 29, 2014. Together they owned and operated Exit 87 BBQ where she was the matriarch of "the BBQ Crew," who she thought of as her children, Tim, Austin, Stacy, Heather, Toni, Jaya, Sara, Taylor, Tika and Adam.
Anyone who knew her, felt the joy Judy derived from making others happy. She loved her family more than life itself, and is survived by her husband, Josh Wadley; and her siblings, Carl Haynes of Jackson, Cathy Haynes Rogers of Jackson;, Robert J. Haynes (Vickie) of Jackson and Sueann Haynes Ramey (Billy) of Pinson. She also leaves a stepdaughter, Jaycee Stutts of Jackson, whom she loved as her own.
In addition, she is survived by several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews who she loved beyond measure. They affectionately called her either "Aunt Goofy" or "Aunt JuJu," and each believed they were her favorite. Judy had an extra special place in her heart for Seth Scarbrough and Haley Scarbrough, who was Judy's "Sunshine."
She opened her home and heart to those in need, including two special dogs, Roxi and Reese, who were rescued and found forever homes with Judy and Josh.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at the George Smith & Son Funeral Home South Chapel, at 1 p.m., with visitation beginning at 11 a.m.
