Jerry Wayne Volner

Jerry was born on January 21, 1945, in Jackson, TN, to the late Gene Louis Volner and Mildred Lorene Stepp Volner, Jerry led a life marked by hard work, dedication, and love for his family. He retired after many years of service with Milan Arsenal and later enjoyed meeting people as a part-time greeter at Walmart during his retirement.

Jerry is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Dianne Graves Volner; his sons, Darren Volner (Jeanna) and Gentry Volner; his cherished grandchildren, Rosemary Dianne Volner Baker (Jeremy) and Tyler Volner (Brooke); and great-grandchildren, Logan Baker, Jeremiah Baker, Peyton Baker, and Wesson Volner. He is also survived by his sister, Alice Volner Anderson (Curtis).

In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his brothers, Richard and William Volner.

A service to celebrate Jerry’s life will be held on Friday, October 4, 2024, at 11:00 am at the South Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons, with Bro. James Keeton officiating. Burial will follow at Lester’s Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening, October 3, 2024, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the funeral home.

Jerry will be remembered for his kindness, his dedication to family, and his steady presence in the lives of those who knew him. His memory will live on in the hearts of his loved ones.
