Dorothy Jane Miller

Dorothy was born on September 2,1945 in Jackson, TN to the late Louis Henry Young and Ethel Jane Gibbons Young. She was retired from West Tennessee Healthcare and had previously worked for West Tennessee Transitional Care, Super X, and Gibson Pharmacy.

She enjoyed riding motorcycles, gardening, planting flowers, sitting in the swing reading, and loved going to the mountains and spending time with her family and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of sixty years, James Glen Miller who passed away February 2, 2023; two brothers, Kenneth Young and Bobby Young and two sisters, Evelyn Young, Vernell Young Gooch.

She is survived by her children, Travis Miller (Anita), Robert Miller (Mae) and Jamie Miller (Connie); four grandchildren, Faron Miller, Madison Miller, Trevor Miller, and Ty Miller; two great grandchildren, Kasyn Miller and Bladen Gatley.

The family will receive friends and loved ones on Monday, June 5, 2023 from 11 am - 12 pm at the South Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons. The memorial service will follow at 12 pm at the funeral home. Her grandson, Ty Miller will officiate the service.

Following the service the family will travel to Cearley Cemetery in Toone for interment.

Mike and Claire Pomeroy will be escorting her remains to the cemetery on Glen and Dorothy’s Harley Davidson motorcycle.
