Betty Jean Pruitt

Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday January 16, 2019 at 11:00 am in the South Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons with Dr. Joe Thornton officiating. Burial will follow in Lesters Chapel Cemetery.

Mrs. Pruitt was born and raised in Humboldt, TN the daughter of the late Ervin and Fannie Craig.

Married to the love of her life Freddie Pruitt on February 25, 1956. She retired from the Madison County clerk’s office after 23 years of service and was a member of Lesters Chapel United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her loving husband; Freddie Pruitt, two sons; David Pruitt (Mary Ann), Thomas Pruitt (Angie), three grandchildren; Heather (Jason), Andrew (Jami), Adam (Trisha), Great- grandchildren; Avery, and Eli. Mrs. Pruitt is also survived by one sister; Nancy Mellary of Spearfish, SD, and niece Gabby Anderson of Tampa, FL.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday January 15, 2019 from 4:00 pm- 7:00 pm in the South Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons.

Active pallbearers to serve are Andrew Pruitt, Adam Pruitt, Jason Moore, Jackie Roach, Randy Wilbanks and Ralph Holmes, with Honorary pallbearers; Richard Murchison, Glen Cooper, Parker Henson and Kenneth Short.
