Betty J. Phillips

Mrs. Betty J. Phillips, 85 of Jackson passed away on Monday October 24, 2016. Graveside Services will be conducted on Thursday October 27, 2016 at 2:00 pm at Highland Memorial Gardens with Dustin Mayfield, and Ricky Clark officiating.

Betty was born on December 22, 1931 in Jackson, TN to the late P.J. and Sarah Williams Hunt. She graduated from Jackson High School, and spent her career working in the Banking Industry starting with Second National Bank. She was a longtime member of West Jackson Baptist Church having accepted Christ at the age of 12.

Other than her parents, Betty was also preceded in death by her Husband Donald Phillips, 3 sisters, and 1 niece.

She is survived by 2 daughters; Mollie Holmes (Wayne), and Amy Phillips both of Jackson, 2 grandchildren; Jessica Mayfield (Dustin), Tyler Holmes (Danielle), and 2 great grandchildren; Graham Mayfield, and Landon Dobias. She also leaves behind 1 niece, and 6 nephews.

Pallbearers to serve are; Wayne Holmes, Tyler Holmes, Dustin Mayfield, Paul Hampson, Frank Hampson, and Gary Hampson.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday October 26, 2016 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm in the North Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons.

Memorial Contributions may be made to West Jackson Baptist Church or to the Madison County Humane Society.
