Arlene Johnson Dowdy

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at 3 p.m., in the South Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Ridgecrest Cemetery.

Active Pallbearers to serve will be Mike Mitchell, Sammy Jones, Tyree Doyle, Nicky Johnson, Rick Johnson, Rocky Johnson. Honorary Pallbearers will be Peyton Cox and Robby Doyle.

She was born to Mr. and Mrs. F.M. Johnson in Chester County, TN on January 8, 1935. Arlene was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, and her husband of fifty years, Billy Joe Dowdy.

She is survived by three daughters, Jody Kelly (Ray) of Cordova, TN, Janet Morris (Ralph) of Beech Bluff, TN and Jennifer Jones (Dennis Mathews) of Medina, TN. She also leaves behind seven grandchildren, Robbie Doyle, Ashley Cox, Hailey Mitchell, Sarah Mitchell, Stephanie Owing, Cristen Jones, and Caroline Jones; and seven great- grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Rachel Johnson of Savannah, TN; her brothers, Joe Johnson of Paris, TN, R.C. Johnson of Milan, TN. She was dearly loved and will forever live in our hearts.

Visitation with the family will be held on Wednesday, November 13, 2013 beginning at 1 p.m. going until the funeral hour at 3 p.m., in the South Chapel.
