Chief Warrant Officer Robert M Pickett, Jr was born February 14, 1922 to Robert M Pickett, Sr. & Clyde Curry Pickett in Memphis, TN. He passed from this earth to his home in Heaven at age 95 on January 1, 2018 at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland, MS. Services will be held at Lakewood Funeral Home on Friday, January 5, 2018 at 2:00 pm with a visitation two hours prior followed by a Military burial in Lakewood Cemetery, Jackson, MS. Mr. Pickett, a Sidon, MS native, was a Florence, MS resident. He had resided in Greenwood and Jackson for a number of years. He attended Sidon Consolidated and Greenwood High School. He was a retired Department of Army Civilian, retiring in 1985. Mr. Pickett was employed by the 121st Army Reserve Command, Birmingham, AL, as a Supervisor Maintenance Technician working with the US Army Reserve in MS, AL & TN. He served his country in the US Army during World War II as a Motor Pool Sargent in Leyte, Philippines in the South Pacific and again during the Korean Conflict. After 42 years of service in the US Army National Guard and the US Army Reserve, he retired in 1982 as a Chief Warrant Officer. Mr. Pickett was an active member of the Marvin United Methodist Church of Florence, MS. Mr. Pickett is preceded by his wife of 34 years, Una Fletcher Pickett; his parents, Robert M Pickett Sr. & Clyde C Pickett; and by his two brothers Marsh Pickett & William Pickett. He is survived by his son, Robert M Pickett III and his wife, Deborah of Florence, MS; his daughter, Dianne P Findley and her husband Jay of Fort Worth, TX; and one sister, Catherine Delano of Mclean, VA. He has 3 grandchildren, Lauren Munoz (Jesse) & Kaitlyn Stamper both of Fort Worth, TX and Timothy Pickett of Pearl, MS. He has one great-granddaughter scheduled to arrive in January, 2018 - Hannah Munoz. He is also survived by two step grandsons, one step granddaughter and 4 step great grandchildren.
