Peggy worked at Lakewood Funeral Home for nearly 30 years before her retirement to help care for her husband Paul. She was a member of Labonte Women's Group, active member at First United Methodist Church of Clinton. She also loved spending time traveling with her family, especially visiting the Blue Ridge Mountains in the fall.
Peggy is survived by her daughter Allison Lyles (Kevin); grandchildren, Paul Lyles and Ashton Lyles, nieces Ann and Tara Easterwood and Barry Lowther and Edward Lowther.
Peggy was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years Paul Pickel; parents Porter and Mildred Hailes; brother Ed Hailes and sister Pasty Wilson; nephew Clay Hailes.
In lieu of flowers please make a donation to a hospice of your choice or to the Salvation Army.
A visitation for Peggy will be held Tuesday, December 19, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Lakewood Funeral Home, 6011 Clinton Blvd, Jackson, Mississippi 39209. A celebration of life will occur Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Lakewood Funeral Home. Peggy will be laid to rest in Lakewood Memorial Park, 6000 Clinton Blvd, Jackson, MS 39209.
