Elizabeth Finch, 94, was born in Sumrall, MS, August 14, 1922. She passed away September 28, 2016, at MS Baptist Hospital after a brief illness. She grew up in Collins, MS, and graduated from Jones Junior College before moving to Jackson where she lived for many years with her husband, Doyle, and daughter, Cindy. They later made their home in Clinton, MS, where she was a member of First Baptist Church of Clinton, Joy Makers Choir and Friendship Sunday School Class. She worked as a secretary in Jackson and later as a sales associate for McRae's. In 2015 she moved to Plain View Assisted Living in Richland which she called her home. She loved to travel, was an avid reader, and worked crossword puzzles every day. But most of all she loved spending time with friends and family, especially the children.
Elizabeth is survived by nieces Deanie Mills (Richard) of Austin, TX and Brandon, MS, Christi Stewart and Suzanne McCoy of Clinton; nephews Hayden and Marliam Lee of Walker, LA; sisters-in-law Earline Slawson of Jackson and Marlene Lee of Walker, LA. She is also survived by several great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews who were such a large part of her life.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Marion and Esther Lee; husband, Dorles Guy (Doyle) Finch; daughter, Cynthia Lee Finch; and brother, W. T. (Bill) Lee.
The family wants to thank the staff at Plain View Assisted Living in Richland and the friends that she made there for making that her home. Also we wish to thank her friend, Vicki McCall, for all the help, support and love that she gave her.
The funeral service will be at Lakewood Funeral Home in Jackson on Saturday, October 1, 2016, at 11:00, with visitation beginning at 10:00. Burial will follow at Lakewood Cemetery.
