Mr. Clyde C. Hemphill, Jr., 83, passed away after an extended illness on Sunday, January 17, 2016 at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 20, 2016 from 9-11 am at Northside Baptist Church in Clinton. A funeral service will be held at 11 am at Northside Baptist Church, with burial to follow in Lakewood Memorial Park in Jackson.Clyde was born in Jackson, MS on September 25, 1932 to the late Clyde Campbell Hemphill and Ruby McMillan Hemphill. He graduated from Central High School in 1951, and then attended MS College and Millsaps College. Clyde served in the US Navy during the Korean War. He married Wilma Jane Harvey in 1955. He was the owner of Hemphill Foodservice which was formerly known as Hemphill Souse and Sausage Kitchen. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Ruby Nell Case and Margaret Ann Clark. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Wilma Hemphill; his daughters, Beverly Hemphill Jones (Jay), Becky Hemphill Crawley (Ted), and Pam Hemphill Sanders (Randy); five grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Mr. Hemphill's family wishes to extend a special thanks to Louise Johnson, Tommy Rimmer, and to the staff of MS Home Care in Clinton.
