Bobby Lee Allen

Bobby Lee Allen (Bob), age 89, of Byram, Mississippi, passed away on Sunday, September 8th, 2024 at Peachtree Village Assisted Living. Bob was born in Randolph, Texas on October 29, 1934 to Purvis and Effie Bell Allen. He grew up in Mississippi, and started a career in the grocery store business. He worked his way up into management and settled down in Hinds County. He retired as a District Manager of Jitney Jungle Grocery Stores.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Nell Allen; his son, Larry Allen (Eva); his sister, Lorene Knight; grandchildren, Leah Gilmore, (Josh) & Nathan Allen (Neysa). He left four great grandchildren, Brentley and Rawson Gilmore and Nolan & Nayley Allen.

He was preceded in death by his father, Purvis Allen & mother, Effie Bell Allen; brothers, Lawrence and John (Shelby) Allen; and sister, Betty Lou Conners (Richard).

A Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 12th, 2024 at Lakewood Funeral Home, 6011 Clinton Blvd, in Clinton, MS from 10:00 am till 12:00 noon. The funeral ceremony will immediately follow. The Interment services will be held at the pavilion in Lakewood Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Berean Children’s Home in Brookhaven, MS.
