She was a life long member of Siwell Road Church of Christ.
Mrs. Thompson was preceded in death by her husband, John Wesley Thompson; her parents, William McKinley Betts, Sr. and Nellie Dixson Betts; and two sisters, Juanita Dorsey and Evelyn Berniece "Brownie" Holmes.
Survivors include her sons, William (Wanda L.) Thompson and Travis (Linda M.) Thompson; one brother, William McKinley Betts, Jr.; four grandchildren: William Allyn Thompson, Jr., Tracey Leigh Morgan, Kimberly Dawn LeBlanc, and Travis John Thompson; eight great-grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday, July 14 at Lakewood South Funeral Home, McCluer Road. The service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 15 at Siwell Road Church of Christ. Interment will follow in Lakewood South Memorial Park.
