Buddy worked for Entergy for 41 years before retirement. He loved to tell stories about his fellow co-workers and all the storm recovery trips. He loved his career and took pride in his work. Buddy was a horse enthusiast and enjoyed spending time and traveling to western events with his children. After retirement, he took pride in gardening, planting tomatoes, yard work, collecting collectables, and being with his beloved dogs, Bugger and Little Man, as well as his cats- Gracie and Frankie. Buddy was known for his contagious smile and his giving heart. From weekly grocery shopping, hanging out with his neighbors, and driving the streets of Clinton, he never met a stranger.
He is preceded in his passing by his parents, Myrtis and Jack Rankin; and his niece, Kim Grimme.
Buddy is survived by his children- Tina Gelston (Mike) and Jeff Rankin; his grandchildren- Evan Gelston (Hunter), Abbey Gelston, Carley Rankin, and Cooper Rankin; his sister, Freda Rankin Smith; nephews- Alan Smith and Mark Smith; niece, Kellye Holmes; and his four legged friends- Bugger, Little Man, Gracie, and Frankie.
