Raymond C. "Pete" Stewart

Of Jackson, MI passed away on May 29, 2024 at the age of 85. Raymond was born in McKeesport, PA on June 24, 1938 to parents James and Margaret (Bichsel) Stewart. He married his wife of 63 years Sharon K. Aukerman on March 17, 1961. Pete was a graduate of Jackson High School, he worked as a production worker for Kelsey Hayes for 30+ years until his retirement. He loved golf, hunting, fishing, and camping. He was an outdoors man who enjoyed tinkering around the house. Pete was a family man who enjoyed talking to everyone. He enjoyed being helpful and wasn't one to sit still. Pete also was a huge Detroit Tigers fan. Pete is survived by his wife of 63 years, Sharon; children Karen Stewart, Brian Stewart, and Mark (Mary) Stewart; and 12 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren; siblings Ethel and Norie; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents James and Margaret; and siblings Herman, Jim, Russell, Margaret, and Agnes. A celebration of “Pete’s life will be held on Tuesday, June 4, 2024 at 12:00 PM, at Burden & Patience-Montgomery Funeral Home (1806 East Michigan Ave., Jackson MI). Family will receive friends on Monday, June 3, 2024 at the funeral home from 3:00 PM-5:00 PM and 6:00 PM- 8:00 PM. Pete will be laid to rest at Roseland Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Stewart family.
