Of Jackson, Michigan passed away on March 1, 2017 at the age of 84. Mary was born on December 28, 1932 in Berrien Springs, Michigan to parents, Willard Craft and Helen (Dunkelberg) Craft. Mary married Curtis Martin in Jackson, Michigan on June 30, 1967. She was a counselor at East Jackson High School, retiring after 24 years of service. She worked very hard for her students all during her career. Mary was a member of the Eastern Star and White Shrine. She loved feeding birds, especially hummingbirds. Mary is survived by her children: Laura Lukas, Steven (Karen) Barrett, Susan Barrett, Christina Martin; grandchildren: Brandon Ashley, Michael Barrett, Laura (Ryan) Huhn, Patricia Barrett, Jacob (Andrea) Hughes; great grandchildren: Kinsey, Kamryn, Alexis, Emma and Aiden; siblings: Martha Craft and Margaret Craft; and many nieces and nephews. Mary was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Curtis Martin; brother, Willard Craft Jr., and sister, Ruthanne Shilling. Cremation has been chosen with a memorial visitation to be held at the funeral home on Friday, March 10, 2017 from 2:00pm-4:00pm. Mary will be laid to rest at Hillcrest Memorial Park next to her husband. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Aware Shelter (706 West Michigan Ave., Jackson Michigan 49201).
