Kathleen Ann McDonald

Of Jackson, passed away on Sunday, August 7, 2016 at the age of 78. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard L. McDonald Sr.; son, Dennis McDonald and daughter, Sandra Iraniha. She is survived by three children, Dawn Cavins, Richard (LuAnne) McDonald, Jr. and Duane (Jamie) McDonald many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Linda McDonald; son-in-law, Nasser Iraniha; special family members, Zoran (Amy) Polic and Jelena Polic; two sisters; one brother; two sisters-in-law as well as numerous nieces, nephews, loving family members and friends. Kathleen was born in Jackson to G.V. and Nina (Wood) Welch on November, 15, 1937. After graduating from Concord High School she married and raised a family while she was employed at Clark Equipment. She and Mr. McDonald relocated to North Carolina where she worked for Sackner Products and continued her employment there even after retirement. After the loss of her husband and son, Kathleen returned to Jackson. She was a hardworking family woman. She touched the hearts of many and will be greatly missed. According to her wishes cremation has been selected and the family will receive friends for a memorial visitation at Chas. J. Burden & Son Funeral Home on Friday, August 12, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. She will be laid to rest next to her husband at Roseland Memorial Gardens on Saturday, August 13, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers contributions in her honor may be made to the Interfaith Shelter or to a local food bank.
