John D. Rudd

Of Jackson, joined his wife in Heaven, on Monday, November 3, 2014 at the age of 71, while under the compassionate care of Pam at the Jacqueline House in Cement City, MI. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 43 years, Doris (Poynter) in January 2013. He is survived by his children, Donald (Barbara) Rudd and Belinda (JW) Prather; four grandchildren, Aaron (Beth) Rudd, Danielle (Jerry) Lowe, Morgan (Drew) Phillips and Jon Trousdale; four great grandchildren, Maddox, Christian, London and Wesley; brother Michael (Janet) Rudd. He was born to John and Dorothy (Rumberger) Rudd in Ypsilanti, MI. John graduated from Jackson High and spent his career as a truck driver. After he retired from Worthington Steel with 33 years of service, he worked for Apollo Express. He was a kind and loving family man. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, riding motorcycles and traveling with his wife. He touched the hearts of many and will be greatly missed. A service honoring his life will be held at the funeral home on Friday, November 7, 2014 at 1:00PM with Pastor David Eidson officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8PM. He will be laid to rest next to his wife at Hillcrest Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Jacqueline House (234 Woodstock St. Cement City, MI 49233) will be significantly appreciated.
