James E. Wilkerson

It is with deep regret, we are reporting the death of James Edward “Jimmy” Wilkerson of Grass Lake, MI. The loving husband, father, grandfather, Vietnam Veteran and friend who passed away Christmas Eve, December 24, 2017 at the age of 68. He has gone to Heaven to be with Christ, following his mothers, Lula Wilkerson and Dorothy Taylor and his wonderful father, Edward Wilkerson and 2 sisters, Mary Ann and Brenda. Surviving the loss of Jimmy, are his wife, Jean Jenkins-Wilkerson, his daughters, April Pena Almanzar and LaToria Wilkerson and his son James A. Wilkerson, along with 3 grandchildren, Shakia Wilkerson, Michael and Aaliyah Schenk, step daughter Sharday (Michael) Schenk, his 2 brothers, Buford Taylor Jr. and Lonnie Taylor are grieving the loss along with his 6 sisters, Sharon (Dan) Wilkerson-Ramalia, Jean Heston, Marie Pickson, Debbie Taylor, Peggie Battler, Tammy Jones. Most everyone who knew Jim would agree, that he was a wonderful, kind and giving man, who was a true blessing to have as a friend. A memorial service for this fallen hero will be held at Northeast Missionary Church (903 Virginia St. Jackson, MI 49202) on Saturday January 13, 2018 at 1:00 PM.
