Carletta Wilson

Of Jackson, MI passed away on November 15, 2024 at the age of 81. Carletta was born on January 21, 1943 in Paducah, KY., and was raised by her grandmother Pearl Mary, aunt Geraldine and her mother Azalea. She married Thomas her husband of 64 years (together for 70 years) June 25, 1960. Carletta was a very special person who was a care-giver of some sort most of her life. It gave her much joy taking care of others. Carletta enjoyed going to car shows with her husband. She was a member of Jackson Free Methodist Church, where she enjoyed her Sunday School and small group friends. She loved hearing about her grandkids and great-grandkids. Seeing them made her day. Carletta liked to cook, but her favorite hobby was shopping. The family would like to say a special thank-you to the Thome PACE program for taking care of Carletta for the past four years. Carletta is survived by her husband Thomas, daughter Maryanne (Gene) Fushi, granddaughters Heather (Greg) Hazen and Shelly (Shane) Stitt, and great-grandchildren Carson, Maddy, and Kennedy. She is preceded in death by her mother Azalea Daglow, step-father Clark Daglow and beloved son Mark Wilson. A celebration of Carletta's life will be held on Tuesday, November 19, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Burden and Patience-Montgomery Funeral Home, (1806 E. Michigan Ave., Jackson, MI 49202) with Pastor Mark Murphy officiating. Luncheon will follow at Jackson Free Methodist Church. Family will receive friends on Monday, November 18, 2024 from 3:00 until 7:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Heart & Lung Association (7272 Greenville Ave., Dallas, TX 75231), St. Jude Children's Hospital (262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105), or Cascades Humane Society (1515 Carmen Dr., Jackson, MI 49202).
