David Alexander Eckstein, 75, of Jackson, AL, entered into rest Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at a local hospital. Funeral services will be Friday, December 12, 2014 at 12:00 PM at First Baptist Church of McIntosh. Interment will follow at First Baptist Church Cemetery, McIntosh. Rev. John Stone will officiate.
A native of New Jersey, Mr. Eckstein has resided in Jackson for many years. He was retired from Boise Cascade and a member of First Baptist Church of McIntosh. Mr. Eckstein was proud veteran serving in both the United States Navy and the United States Coast Guard.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years Shirley Eckstein of Jackson, three children, Danny Eckstein (Malissa) of Jackson, Sherrie McIntyre (Lewis) of McIntosh, and David Eckstein (Lori) of Jackson, three sisters, Joan Heinrichs (Lonnie) of Theodore, AL, Barbara Dammann and Dee Peters, nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Friday from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM at the church.
