Ruth Carol Graczyk

She will be dearly missed by her devoted husband of 65 years, Frank Graczyk, her children Karen McClive (Duncan), Doug Graczyk (Sarena) and Bob Graczyk (Missy); her grandchildren Cameron McClive (Kayla), Courtney Kelso (Jamie), Kristen Monts (Joey), Chelsea Wolfe, Dustin McClive (Ashley), Ryan Graczyk (Kate), Evan Graczyk, Brandon Graczyk, Brooke Graczyk Preston Graczyk; and her 13 great grandchildren (Maria, Riley, Lindsay, Aubrey, E.Duncan, Nolan, Connor, Carter, Shawn, Everest, Dylan, Emily and Chloe).

Ruth was the daughter of the late Arnold and Helen Theel. In addition to her parents, Ruth was predeceased by her brother, Ronald Theel; her mother and father-in-law, Frank and Florence Graczyk; and her sister-in-law, Eleanor Graczyk.

Born and raised in North Tonawanda, NY, Ruth met her husband, Frank, and they were married on May 18, 1957. In 1976, they moved to Columbia, SC, where they have lived ever since.

Because of her love for singing and playing the piano, she became heavily involved with her church choir at a very young age and continued that involvement her entire life. After moving to Columbia, she became a member of the Ashland United Methodist Church Choir and served as the church organist for over 25 years.

But her ultimate source of pride and joy was her family. She nurtured a close relationship with all of her grandchildren and relished seeing them have children of their own.

The family would like to thank Oakleaf Village of Lexington for the assistance and care they provided to Ruth during the final stages of her life.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Ashland United Methodist Church or Sharing God's Love (147 Friarsgate Boulevard, Irmo, SC 29063)

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, December 1, 2022, at Ashland United Methodist Church, 2600 Ashland Road, Columbia, SC. The family will receive friends following the service in Ashland Hall.
