Melanie R. Webb was born in Columbia, South Carolina. She was the middle child of three born to Robert E. "Buddy" Webb, Jr. and Lillian "Mimi" Hillard Webb. She graduated from Eau Claire High School in 1964 where she also taught from 1970 to December of 1987. She attended The University of South Carolina, where she earned a B.A. in Sociology, and a Master of Arts in Teaching-Health Education, in addition to 30 hours above Master's Level in Education Administration.
As an Educator, Melanie worked very closely with the communities she served and developed life-long relationships with students and colleagues. Being very loving and social (besides having a wonderful sense of humor) she never met a stranger and fostered many lifelong working relationships and friendships.

Melanie was predeceased by her parents and her sister, Renee Marguerite Webb, and is survived by her life partner of 35 years, Yolanda G. Salitrero of Chapin, SC, her son, Dennis M. Graber, and her grandchildren, Jacob M. Graber and Lillian Morgan Graber of Lexington, SC, her brother, Paul D. Webb of Columbia, SC, her nieces, Nichole Bellington (Robert) Lupo and her grandniece, Cora Lupo of Decatur, GA and Katie Webb (Jason) Weden and grandniece, Olivia Weden of Duncan, SC. She will be greatly missed by other loving family members and many friends.
