Karl L. Horn

Karl was born on August 10, 1960, to Karl and Noelia Horn in San Juan, Puerto Rico. After Karl graduated from boarding school in Switzerland, he went on to study History at the University of South Carolina.

Karl was an entrepreneur, salesman, and most importantly, he was a family man.

In 1983, Karl met his beloved wife Kelly in Lexington, SC, and it was love at first sight. They were married the following year. Karl and Kelly went on to have three children, Karl Joseph, Kenneth “Kenny” Joseph, and Katherine “Kassie” Marie.

Karl was a devoted father and husband. He enjoyed boating, golfing, shopping for antiques, watching Gamecock football, and embarking on his many business ventures. He also enjoyed golf cart rides with his beloved yellow lab, Maggie May. He was a problem solver who often took on difficult projects at work and at home. He wanted nothing more than for his family to not worry. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.

Karl was predeceased by his father, Karl Horn. He is survived by his wife, Kelly Marie, children, son Karl Joseph (Sara Anne), son Kenneth Joseph, daughter Katherine Marie Cartee (Andrew Jameson), and grandchildren Karl Ethan and Sullivan Asher, and his mother Noelia Horn.

A small family service will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to PETSinc, a non-profit animal rescue, an organization Karl felt strongly about.
