Bruce K. Ridgeway

COLUMBIA - Memorial service for Bruce Kennedy Ridgeway, 93, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 19, 2014, at Presbyterian Communities of Columbia Chapel, 700 DaVega Dr. Lexington. A private burial will be held in Elmwood Cemetery prior to the service. The family will receive friends following the service at Presbyterian Community. Dunbar Funeral Home, Dutch Fork Chapel, is assisting the family. Mrs. Ridgeway died Tuesday, December 16, 2014, at Cassels Healthcare Center, Presbyterian Community. Born on June 2, 1921, in Columbia, she was the daughter of the late David James Kennedy and Oma Thain Kennedy. She graduated from Columbia High School and worked as a secretary for several years. She enjoyed her volunteer office work at Westminster Presbyterian where she was a member. She was a faithful Christian who loved her Lord, was the Best Mom ever, true friend and someone who looked for the good in all people and situations. Surviving are her son, Reuben F. Ridgeway III (Pete); daughters, Sharon Hixson (Henry), Julie Blanchette (Jim); grandchildren, Cody Hixson (Jessica), Brandon Hixson, Christopher and Maria Blanchette; great-grandchildren, Drew, Olivia, Graham, Thomas and Tyler Hixson. She was predeceased by her husband, Reuben F. Ridgeway, Jr. and daughter-in-law, Dianna R. Ridgeway. Memorials may be made to Presbyterian Communities of SC, 700 DaVega Drive, Lexington, SC, 29073.
