Henry K. “Chuffy” Gregg went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, January 12, 2015 in Wichita Falls, TX. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 Thursday, January 15, 2015 at First United Methodist Church of Iowa Park with Pastor Jon Eckstein officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery under the direction of Dutton Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at Dutton Funeral Home.
Chuffy was born May 10, 1926 in Lewisville, TX to William “Bill” and Annie Reynolds Gregg. He was the sixth of ten siblings. He attended Mary’s Creek and Bomarton schools in Bomarton, TX. On June 19, 1946 he married Vera Inez Latham, his partner and the love of his life. He was in the Navy and proudly served in WWII and the Korean conflict. Chuffy and Inez have been Iowa Park residents since 1960, where they raised their three daughters, the lights of their lives.
Chuffy was a barber for over 40 years and a longtime farmer. He was a lifetime member of the Masonic Lodge. He loved gospel music, was an avid fisherman and shared those passions with his wife, family and friends. He was a great supporter of the Iowa Park Hawks. His favorite pastime was spending as much time as he could with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren in their sports, livestock shows and many activities; he was their biggest fan. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Iowa Park.
Chuffy is survived by his wife of 68 years, Inez of Iowa Park; three daughters and sons-in-law, Mike and Judy Young, Ronnie and Vickie Benson, and Steve and Mickie Moody all of Iowa Park; one brother, Jack Gregg of Andrews,TX; eight grandchildren, Scott Young and wife Jana, Gregg Young and wife Shandy, Jodi Trietsch and husband Shane, Brandon Scott, Laci Medlinger and husband Jimmy, Heather Rusk and husband Colby, Mollie Morton and husband Lance, and Latham Moody; and 13 great-grandchildren. He is leaving behind a family who loves him tremendously and wants him to be remembered for his happy, jolly spirit, his infectious laughter and his incredible faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. To know him was to love him.
Chuffy is preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Annie; one sister, Ola Jones; and seven brothers, Bill, Steven, Charles, Jessie, Calvin, Jim and Ted Gregg.
