It is with great sadness that the family of Mark Alexander MacDonald announce his sudden passing on October 30, 2021. Born May 5, 1975 to Angus Bernard (Buddy Alex D.) and Pauline (nee Beaton) MacDonald.
Mark lived most of his life in Little Judique where he steadfastly carried on the family tradition of lobster fishing out of Pig Cove Harbour. Mark worked numerous jobs in Alberta as a member of Insulators Local 110 however, regardless of how far away from home he was, Mark’s heart remained in Cape Breton.
An avid sports fan, Mark followed the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Michigan State, the Montreal Canadiens, the Detroit Tigers, and the Joe Effie Road harness racers to name a few of his favorites. We will remember Mark as a quick witted loyal friend on and off the water who loved animals, Olands and a good laugh with friends.
Mark lived an independent life but was always grateful for the many invites he received from his family and friends to share a meal and tell some stories.
He is predeceased by his parents and infant brother, Alexander. He is survived by siblings, Carolyn, Melvin (Jenny), Sheila, Elaine (Archie); nieces and nephews, Erik, Elyse, Leah and Brett; uncles and aunts, Ronnie (Josephine) MacDonald, Neil MacDonald, Al (Maneight) Beaton, Sr. Genevieve MacDonald and Marie MacMaster, as well as numerous cousins.
The family wish to thank the staff at Inverness Consolidated Memorial Hospital, EHS personnel, Mark’s community of fellow fishermen and his friends for their caring and support.
