Margaret Jane MacDonald

Mother, on November 3, 2010, in Inverness Consolidated Memorial Hospital. Margaret was born in Keppoch, Inverness Co. on May 9,1929, to Dan H. and Kate Jess (Gillis) MacLellan. Margaret was a member of Stella Maris Church, Inverness and a 22 year employee of Quincy Market Ltd. and worked for Inverness District School Board for 6 years. She enjoyed a good game of cards, a night of Bingo and sharing a cup of tea and plate of sweets with family and friends.

She is survived by sons, Charlie (Christene), Joe (Reine Anne); her daughter Karen Hirtle all of Inverness; and Larry (Kim) of Cole Harbour; brothers Archie Dan and John Lauchie (Edith) MacLellan, Broad Cove.Nanny will be missed by her grandchildren, Charlene (Frank) MacKinnon, Brea (Tony) Koziel ,William (Erica) Hirtle, Katie (Sean) Smith, Jennifer (Keith)Doucet, Matthew Hirtle, Taryn MacDonald, Mitchell MacDonald and Randy MacDonald. Her great-grandchildren, Abigail, Brady, Keigan, Walker,Tessa and Morgan.

Margaret was predeceased by her husband Alex A.; brother, Simon and two sisters in infancy.

No matter what life brought she was able to overcome it with her strong faith and positive attitude. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held in Inverness Funeral Home on Saturday November 6, 2010 from 7-9 p.m. and Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral mass will be held on Monday November 8 at 11 a.m. in Stella Maris Church, Inverness with Fr. Duncan MacIsaac officiating. Burial to follow in the parish cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Stella Maris Parish Cemetery Fund, Central Inverness Palliative Care Society or to a charity of your choice.
