Though dad was a mechanic, he had the brain of an engineer. Saying he could fix anything is no exaggeration. He retired from the Strait Regional School Board after 27 years. Prior to that he worked at the Texaco in Judique for 16 years. This is where he got the handle, "The Hammer".
Those of you that knew him, know how much he struggled with COPD and how tough he was, he'd seldom complain. He loved his animals as much as he loved his family, friends, and peppermints.
We will be forever grateful to Lori Anne, Paulette, Johnena, Dr. Ritter, Dr. Lok, his home care nurses, nursing and housekeeping staff at Inverness Consolidated Memorial Hospital and Port Hood Fire Department First Responders. Thanks to dads wonderful neighbours and those who made frequent trips to visit him when he was in the hospital. Special thanks to Father Bernie MacDonald and Father Vincent vanZutphen for their spiritual guidance. Funeral Mass will be at a later date by the Inverness Funeral Home who has shown great compassion in our time of sorrow. Donations can made in memory of dad to Central Inverness Palliative Care Society. Breathe easy Dad!
