It is with great sadness that the family of Jane Marie MacLean, 78, of Corner Street. Inverness announces her passing on Sunday, June 16th 2013, in Inverness Consolidated Memorial Hospital. Born in Inverness on October 31st 1934, Jane was a daughter of the late Hughie G. and Mary Ann (MacNeil) MacDougall, and wife of the late Brien (Spill) MacLean. She is survived by daughter, Linda (Steven) Basker, Lake Ainslie; son Billy (Kim) MacLean, Inverness; grandchildren, Leah (Danny) Stewart, Myles (Melissa) Basker, Keigan MacLean, Alex MacLean, Chris Miller, and Janna MacDonald; great-grandchildren, Brooklyn Stewart, Sophie Stewart, and Iain Stewart. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren held a special place in her heart. Also survived by loving sister, Shirley (Morton) Wolfe, Prince Edward Island; sister-in-law, Peggy MacDougall, Inverness, many nieces and nephews. Jane was predeceassed by her brothers, Donnie, John, and Jordon; sisters, Jemima Macleod and Marcella West and sister-in-law, Theresa MacDougall; brothers-in-law, Doug MacLeod and Colin West.
Her family and friends are so thankful for the zest, laughter and honesty she possessed and inspire to continue on with her manner.
Visitation will be held in Inverness Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 18 from 7-9 pm. Funeral mass will be held at 11 am on Thursday in Stella Maris Church, Inverness with Fr. Duncan MacIsaac officiating. Burial at a later date, Memorial donations may be made to Central Inverness Palliative Care Society or to St Johns Cemetery Fund, Strathlorne.
