It is with deep sadness and so much love that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father and special poppa, Daniel Bernard MacPherson "Danny" on March, 5th, 2024 in inverness Consolidated Memorial Hospital surrounded by his loving family
Born on September 27, 1950 to parents John Dan MacPherson and Mary ( Hart ) MacPherson Dunvegan.
Danny was best known for his hard work - He started lobster fishing at an early at age with his father and brother Jimmy at Margaree island. Danny later got his own lobster outfit and started fishing on his own out of Broad Cove marsh, then moved on to Inverness to finish off his 60 year career in the fishery where he fished with his son and best friend, Andy, who he taught and passed on his knowledge of the ocean too, and with whom he loved to get out for a crab trip any chance he got. Danny had a passion for hard work, after fishing early mornings he would then be found in the coal mines working harder, Danny enjoyed working in the woods cutting pulp; providing for his family was number one. Danny was a simple man who enjoyed the simple things in life, and was happiest when surrounded by his family and the love of his life for 50 years Donna. Danny loved being outdoors, and could always be found working around something, cutting and splitting wood, building lobster traps, and taking his dog Oreo for long walks you could be sure so meet them daily on their walk to St. Rose. Danny was a loyal friend and you could always count on him for a hand if you needed it, or for a long chat with a story or two, he loved to chat and meet new friends. Danny was a kind man with a beautiful soul, and strong faith, his greatest passion was the love for his grandchildren, his absolute pride and joy. Poppas girls were everything to him and they could be found by his side through his toughest days, he always said they truly were the best medicine, and they will miss him immensely.
