It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Cyril Joseph "Joe" MacDonald of Harbourview, Inverness County at the age of 68 on Saturday, December 10, 2022 in Inverness Consolidated Memorial Hospital.
He was a son of the late Michael Duncan and Lexina (MacMillan) MacDonald, Harbourview.
Joe will be sadly missed by his five brothers, John Archie (Julie), Harbourview; Donald Angus, Port Hood; Leon Patrick, (Mary), Harbourview; Bill, (Willianna), Rankinville; Frank, Harbourview; and sister, Marie, (Clarence d-2021), Port Hood.
He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
Besides his parents, Joe is predeceased by his sister, Mary Murray, Port Hawkesbury.
He was employed with Ceilidh Fishermans Co-op ltd, Port Hood for over forty years. He liked to cut firewood and made sure that he had lots of it to last throughout the winter months. Joe also enjoyed riding on his ATV and snowmobiling. He liked to keep busy and loved the outdoors.
Visitation will be held in St. Peter's Church, Port Hood on Friday, December 16th from 10-10:45 am with Funeral Mass to follow at 11:00 am with Father Bernie MacDonald and Father Sunny officiating. Burial to follow in the parish cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Peter's Parish Cemetery Fund, Port Hood or to a charity of one's choice.
