Charles Robert "Charlie" MacDonald

Charles “Charlie” Robert MacDonald, age 79, of the Inverary Manor, Inverness, Nova Scotia peacefully passed away Friday, May 31st, 2024.

He was born on August 8, 1944, to the late Robert and Mary Ann MacDonald. Charlie then married Claire and remained happily married for 57 years until her passing in January of this year. They raised their family in Nevada Valley where Charlie was an active member in the community and church. He worked at the Little Narrows Gypsum plant for more than 30 years and was happy to hear that it will be running again.

He is survived by two sons, Brian (Kim) MacDonald and Donald MacDonald; and three grandchildren, Brianna (David), Tamara (Ryan), Jessica (Logan); and great grandchildren, Kayden and Lochlan. He is also survived by brother-in-law, Finley Beaton; Donald Mac Isaac, Willie (Louise) Mac Isaac, Allan (Mariss) Mac Isaac, Robert (Sadia) Mac Isaac; sisters-in-law Edna Suitor, Catherine (Bill) Mac Gillivary, Grace (Mike) Tapics, Lillian (Cecil) Dunlap, Martha (Richard) Gillis, Monica (George) Goodall; Carm Mac Isaac, Gerri Mac Isaac; and many nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by his wife, Claire; brothers Johnny (Mary) MacDonald, Allan MacDonald; sisters Anna (Jack) MacDonald, Josie Beaton; sisters in-law, Mary (Angus) Beaton, Theresa Gillis; brothers-in-law, Angus Mac Isaac, Byron Mac Isaac, Donald Francis in infancy; John Suitor. Also predeceased by nephews, Blaise Gillis, Henry (Carla) Snow, Blaise Mac Isaac, and Glen Mac Isaac.

The visitation will be in the vestry, St. Mary's Church, Mabou, Thursday, June 6th, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The Funeral Mass will be held at St. Joseph's Church, Glencoe, Friday, June 7, 2024, at 11:00 AM.
