It is with deep sadness, that we, the family, announce the passing of our loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Angus Duncan "Angie D" MacIsaac, of Foot Cape, Inverness Co., on December 6th, 2017 at his home in Foot Cape surrounded by his family. Born in Broad Cove Banks on February 15, 1922, Angie D was the son of the late "Patent" Archie and Jessie (MacKinnon) MacIsaac.
Dad was greatly devoted to his Catholic faith and especially the Holy Rosary. The things dearest to Dad were his family, his faith and his Celtic music. He was a member of Stella Maris Parish in Inverness.
As a young man, Dad worked doing various jobs. Dad served with Carleton and York Regiment in the Second World War from 1942-1945 in the United Kingdom, Mediterranean, North Africa, and Ortona, Italy.
After returning from the war in 1946, Dad worked in the Coal Mines in Inverness until his injury prevented him from working as a miner. He also fished with his father and brothers. He spent his life working as a farmer, fisherman, and carpenter.
He is survived by his daughters, Anne Marie (Nat) Croucher, Lower Sackville; Sadie Moloney, Port Hood; Catherine (Derrick) MacKinnon, Fredericton; Stella (Todd) Goyetche, Dartmouth; Teresa MacPherson, Dunvegan; Florence MacIsaac, Fredericton; and sons: Anthony (Theresa), Dartmouth; Joseph (Darlene), St. Joseph Du Moine; Dougall, Foot Cape; Pius, Mabou; Jimmy (Hilda), East Margaree; Alex (Sarah), River John; Angus (Janie), Port Moody, B.C. He is also survived by 29 grand children; 11 great-grand children; his sister, Mary (Peter) MacLean, Port Hood; brother in-law, James Ryan; British Columbia and many nieces and nephews.
Dad was predeceased by his loving his wife of 58 years, Stella Ryan; son, Patrick and wife Pat; children in infancy, Duncan and Rita Marie; sons-in-law, Francis Moloney and Alexander MacPherson. He was predeceased by his sisters, Mary Anne, Sadie, Catherine, Mary Anne, Florence and brothers; Dougall Angus, Alex Angus, Dougall Angus, John Archie, John Hughie, Joseph A, Joseph D, Johnnie and Danny.
Visitation will be held Friday, December 8th, 2017 from 2-4 and 7-9 in Inverness Funeral Home with Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 9th, in Stella Maris Church, Inverness with Father Dan MacDonald officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations can be made to Central Inverness Palliative Care or Stella Maris Building Fund, Inverness
