WILLIAM WOODS (Aka Peanut) was born August 5th, 1950 in Bowling Green, Kentucky. He enjoyed his special times in Smith Grove, Kentucky in his youth and as an adult with his grandfather, grand-mother, uncles, aunties, cousins, and friends. After moving to Indianapolis, Indiana, William attended Wood High School. He worked at Bridgestone Firestone in Bowling Green and Indianapolis where he retired after 38 years. WILLIAM loved family and the Lord. He was a member of New Haven Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Raymond Hiser. On November 7th, 1981 William was united in holy matrimony to the lovely Charlotte Rose Moore. They enjoyed traveling, cooking, grilling, dancing, playing cards, working on his home, and taking care of each other for 45 years. As Mrs. Woods says, “He gave me a wonderful life.” Throughout his life, William took pleasure in fishing, working on his cars, riding motorcycles, and helping others. He would always say, “If you need me, call me and I’ll be there.” William Woods cherished his relationship with his daughter Tawana and enjoyed walking her down the aisle. WILLIAM was preceded in death by his loving mother Lola Mae Bennett, his father Jim Bennett, his brother Jim Bennett Jr., and his sister Wanda E. Bennett. WILLIAM departed this life on January 12th, 2023 at the age of 72. WILLIAM is survived by his wife Charlotte Woods, his parents Williams D. Woods Sr. and Thelma Woods, his children Tawana Percell, Jeff Percell, Kenneth L. Smith Sr, Chelly Smith, Robey Meeks, his grandchildren Danzell White, Janiah Edwards, Kenneth and Melody Smith, Charles Marquis Hill, great-grandson Jayce Melo Smith, his siblings Jerome Bennett, Rose Bennett, Debbie Wheat, Lori Bennett, William and Judy Woods, Patricia Shields, Larry and Phyllis Woods, Mariea Landrum, Rodney and Michele Woods, Linda and Michael Hudson, nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends. WILLIAM will also be greatly missed by his sisters and brothers-in-law Elizabeth and James Levi, Deborah Moore, Paulette Hightower, Lisa and Tony Scott, John Moore, Jr., and Marlene Moore. WILLIAM WOODS will always be remembered by his aunts and uncles Frank Bennett, Robert Bennett, Tommy Martin, Jimmy Martin, Sherily Martin, Ann Hunter, and Bobby Bunton.
