MR. WILLIAM ALLEN MUNDY passed away peacefully on Mon-day, August 30, 2021 in Indianapolis, Indiana.
WILLIAM was born in Indianapolis, Indiana to John W. Mundy Sr. and Lucy M. Mundy on January 11, 1958. He was the sixth of eight children.
He professed his faith in Christ at a young age, and he was baptized at Christ Missionary Baptist Church by Rev. Melvin B. Girton, Sr.
WILLIAM attended Indianapolis Public Schools and graduated from Crispus Attucks High School in 1976. Later that year, he joined the United States Army and served as a military police officer until 1982 when he received an Honorable Discharge.
In 1978, William married Esther “Cissy” Edmonds, and they were blessed with the birth of their lovely daughter Nikisha MeNae in May of 1980.
Emulating his father, he became a self-employed electrician and all around handyman. William enjoyed cooking, tinkering, and spending time with family, especially his daughter, Nikisha, son-in-law, Andrew, and two granddaughters, Ashley Christina and Sophia Grace. In his younger years, you would always see him “dressed to the nines” from head to toe. He was never one to shy away from a camera.
WILLIAM ALLEN MUNDY was preceded in death by his parents John and Lucy Mundy, grandmother Lucy Mae Edwards and brother and best friend Robert Anthony “Tony” Mundy. He leaves to cherish daughter Nikisha and son-in-law Andrew Franklin of Indianapolis, Indiana; three sisters, Delores Mundy, Jackie (Herschell) Jones, and Debra Mundy; three brothers John Jr., Minister Curtis, and Minister Christopher (Leslie) Mundy; two granddaughters, Ashley Christina and Sophia Grace; special friend Esther “Cissy” Shipp; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
