Wallace Hall Webb, Jr. departed this life peacefully, surrounded by family, on Friday, February 8, 2019. Wallace was born in Terre Haute, Indiana on December 26, 1938. He is preceded in death by his parents, Wallace H. Webb, Sr. and Helen A. Harvel Webb, his aunt, Ernestine Harvel McCree, as well as his beloved nephew, Christopher Lamberg.
Wallace (“Wally”) attended elementary school, middle school, and Wiley High School in Terre Haute, where he excelled in sports and won numerous awards for football, basketball, and track. He continued his outstanding reputation as a scholar athlete, especially in football, at Indiana State University, where he earned the Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences and the Master of Science in Education degree. In addition, at Indiana State he was awarded the prestigious scholar athlete of the year award. Moreover, Wallace liked to travel, especially visiting family in St. Croix, Virgin Islands; he enjoyed photography, gardening, and bird watching; was an excellent skier, an avid football fan, an exceptional guitarist, a jazz enthusiast, and was blessed with a beautiful baritone singing voice.
Wallace had a distinguished career as an educator and administrator. He taught biology at Crispus Attucks and George Washington high schools in Indianapolis, and coached football and basketball. In addition, he was Assistant Director of the Affirmative Action Office at Indiana University-Bloomington; was an administrator for the U. S. Department of Education’s Drug Free Schools Program in Washington, D. C.; was the Grants Coordinator for the Kentucky Department of Education’s School-To-Work Program, and was founding Director of the St. Paul Adult Learning Center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. After his retirement, Wallace and his family spent 13 years in the San Francisco Bay Area before returning back home to the Midwest five years ago.
Thirty-nine years ago Wallace married Karen Ramona Schuster in Bloomington, Indiana. From this blessed union two children were born, daughter, Ramona

Rozell Webb, of Oakland, California and son, Wallace Hall Webb, III, who resides in Beavercreek, Ohio. A devoted husband and proud father, Wallace was also a
devout Catholic, whose faith sustained him throughout his illness. In addition, he was a proud member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, The Knights of Columbus, and Pi Lambda Phi.
Wallace is survived by his loving wife, Karen, his daughter, Ramona, son, Wallace, III, sister, Mary Helen Worrell, brother-in-law, Louis H. Schuster, II, nieces Barbet (Paul) Lamberg and Alyssa Worrell, grandnephew, Caylan Maynard, grandniece, Kristin (Jonathan) Thurman, great grandnieces, Nyla, Layla, and Jayla Thurman, loving cousins, and a host of wonderful and treasured friends. Wallace is sorely missed, but the memories of his incredible smile, elegance, grace, and indomitable spirit will be with us always.
