Robert Gene Harmon (Pawpaw) was born to Bessie Woods and Booker T. Harmon on May 24, 1930, in Dickson, TN.
As a child Robert accepted Christ at an early age, and attended school in Dickson, TN before moving to Indianapolis, IN. He later joined the Military serving in the Army during the Korean War. After an honorable discharge, Robert returned to Indianapolis and began his career at General Motors, where he worked for 28yrs, retiring in 1993.
During his retirement days, Robert spent his leisure time being an endearing Pawpaw, whose favorite hobby was hunting for thrifty deals at the local Goodwill, and making sure his (and everyone else's) car was spotless.
Robert Gene Harmon, was called home at Westpark, A Waters Community on Dec. 2, 2017 at 12:30pm, where he was admired by many. He is now with his loving wife of 37yrs. Carol Harmon, along with his mother, father, and brother (Bessie, Booker, & Willie Paul). He leaves behind his 5 children: Tarita (Victor) Watson, Kevin Taylor, Derrick (Paulette) Harmon, Courtney Harmon, and Dwight (Georgette) Harmon; 3 siblings: Conrad (Rose) Baker, Pat Jones, Theresa Woods ;7 grandchildren Victor Watson, Antonio (Katrina) Harmon, Tia (Brittany) Harmon, TaRhonda Watson, BreAunna Harmon, Christian (Steven) Entezari, Candace Taylor, and Dwight Harmon Jr., and 6 Great Grandchildren: Cortez, Anthony, Ajami, Traveon, Jada & Damari, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
Robert will be remembered for his witty sense of humor and sharp mind, which he had until he was called home. His family would like to thank everyone who played a role in Robert's life, and for your thoughts and prayers for us.
