Robert "Bob" John Boak

Robert “Bob” John Boak, age 87, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away September 29, 2024. Bob was born April 23, 1937 in New Castle, Pennsylvania to William and Frances (Kolodziejski) Boak. After graduating from New Castle High School in 1956, Bob attended Indiana University on a Football scholarship graduating in 1961. He went on to play semi professional football for the Indianapolis Warriors.

Bob was employed in Industrial sales for many years, ending his career to become a caregiver to his daughter Traci after a near fatal accident.

Bob loved to participate in sports, especially softball, handball, and golf where he made many lasting friendships.

He loved spending time on the water, especially at Lake Tippecanoe in the summers and 40 plus years at the Sandcastle Beach Club on Ft. Myers Beach, where you could find him with an alcoholic beverage and a cigar surrounded by friends and family.

Bob is survived by his wife of 58 years, Judy, daughters Jacque and Traci, Grandson, Kolby, and great-grandsons Treyton and River as well as his beloved cat, Gladys.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, William and Frances Boak, brothers Bill and Chet and sister-in-law Florence.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 6, 2024 from 4-7:30 p.m. at Feeney Hornak Shadeland Mortuary, 1307 N. Shadeland Ave. Indianapolis, IN 46219. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday, October 7th at 11:00 AM at Nativity Catholic Church, 7225 Southeastern Ave, Indianapolis, IN 46239.
