Naomi “Poolum” Render was born on January 02, 1929, to Orville and Oma Mitchell in Greenville, Kentucky. Naomi received her education at Greenville Training elementary school and Drakesboro Community High School. Naomi gave her life to Christ and was baptized at an early age. She was a devoted member of Capital City Seventh Day Adventist Church at the age of 19 years old. Naomi later became an Usher board member, a primary Sabbath school teacher and served on the deaconess board. Naomi married her high school sweetheart Robert, in 1943 and was married for 26 years born to this union was eight children, six girls and two boys. Naomi worked at American East and Community East Hospital until her health failed her. Naomi had a love for studying the word of God and listening to gospel music, she enjoyed cooking, having family gatherings, crocheting, reading the newspaper, working in her yard, planting beautiful flowers, she also had a love for dogs. Naomi was a committed strong Godly mother and grandmother filled with love and wisdom. Her strength was the foundation on which our family thrived. She was a caring, nurturing, compassionate, and supportive person who loved her children unconditionally. She stood for what she believed in and there was no changing her mind, a true Matriarch of the family. Naomi “Poolum” Render departed this life on Monday, July 8, 2024, at the age of 95. She is preceded in death by her father Orville Mitchell, mother, Oma Mitchell, four brothers Johnny, William James, Roland Hayes and Sylvester Mitchell, three sisters, Mary Reynolds, Margie Mitchell and Kathryn Taylor. Naomi leaves to cherish her memory sons, Jerome and Rodney Render, daughters, Vivian Render, Landa (Oscar) Daly, Deborah (Ralph) Scisney, Wanda Render, Robin (Charles) Hodges, Kathy Render; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, great-great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A visitation for Naomi will be held Thursday, July 18, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, followed by a Celebration of Life at 1:00 PM.
